Truffles al Kam'ah

Desert truffles!!

They're delicious and nutritious but very expensive!
We found cars selling them on the roadside.
They taste like mushroom and tofu with a nutty flavour.
The water I boiled them in is supposed to be good for the eyes.

Sr120 (approximately £24 GBP) for about 778g! (less than a kilo)

The Saudis call truffles فقع fagha'a. In the hadeeth they were called 'kam'ah' الْكَمْأَةُ

They are also called 'banaat ar Ra'd' daughters of thunder because they only appear after thunderstorms.
They are very soily/sandy and must be soaked in water for about an hour. Then scrub off the sand and peel them. Chop them up small and boil them in water for about an hour. Then you can cook them however you wish - fried, added to soups or vegetables. They are rich in protein and minerals.

8 truffles sr120!

Sa'id b. Zaid reported Allal a Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Truffles are a kind of 'Manna' which Allah sent down upon Moses and their juice is a medicine for the eyes.
